EVALUATION ACTIVITY 1

In order to develop our media product(credit sequence) we began by looking at the credits of sherlock homes and used some of those ideas to transfer into our own product.
If i had more time to edit our video i would have liked to have put after effects in, this would have really made the credit sequence that extra bit better.

We used the green room to shoot our credit sequence, at the start i was against this and wanted to use the black room as it would be more typical but the others wanted this green room as it had more space. In the end i like the effect the green room has as it's quite trippy and weird and makes you think what kind of character has a green room. I also think the way Johnson walks in the credit sequence shows some of his personality.

I liked adding our key frames to our credit sequence and the effects i made by doing that, also the still cartoon images i made on photoshop.
I think because in our credit sequence Johnson is the only character we decided to use a soundtrack that would show his feelings and emotions. I think i found a soundtrack that creates this effect, but if you were to listen to it without knowing the music were his feeling you would think it sounded random.

I think the opening sets the story up well and you can find out a lot about the character Johnson from the props we used. Johnson likes his hats as you see when he puts one at the end of our credit sequence, i think that will be a big part in our remake and also quite a witty part a bit like Indiana Jones.

Here are 9 frames from our title sequence.

Frame 1: I chose this frame of the edited image of the match being lit because

Frame 2: This frame i chose because it's just about to go into the edit still but it's still in modern day video, it has a trippy effect of a face coming through the paper that also gives of a mysterous effect to the credit sequence,

Frame 3: This is a still of the setting of the desk, i think the desk shows Johnsons(our modern day doctor marlowe like character) kind of personality, it has a blank book that he flicks through which i think shows a kind of mystery.

Frame 4: This is a close up of the hand with blood on, i think this is a very important bit in our credit sequence as it introduces the horror aspect of our remake.

Frame 5:This still is just before i flick the needle, i think this is also an important scene because it shows the needle in my hand and shows that i will be injecting it by giving it a flick. This creates a bit of tension.

Scene 6: This is the scene right before Johnsons injects himself with the needle, i picked this as it's important to see that he's the one who's going to be experiencing the effects of the drug he's injecting into himself as he walks out the door and the remake starts.

Frame 7, This is a frame of Johnsons Ipod with the song 'Monster' on it, perhaps the song is getting him in the mood after injecting himself or perhaps he just likes that modern day kind of music, i shall leave that up to the viewer

Frame 8: I chose this edit still of him throwing his jacket on because i think it shows that the weather outside is going to be cold and the kind of clothes he choices to wear...quite abstract clothing for someone his age.

Frame 9: This is an edit still of our title, we used a standard font in photoshop called ‘Handwriting’ i quite like the font we used, yet i think we could have found a font which was like this but also gave of a bit more of a horror effect, perhaps a bit of blood dripping off every other letter or something along those lines.
