Research, Music video treatment

Production companies and dirctors work with the artist to define the desired treatment.
This outlines the infortmation that is needed for the music video and tells the readrer what it's about, the main concept.
It also helps the production companies gage the budget of the video.

The 3 main concepts of a music video are

  1.  Perfoming to a live audience
  • or perfoming alone
  • tallent focused
  1. Story Line
  • Certain events that happen to make the story
  • Certian situations in the video
  1. Experimental
  • Random images in the video
  • shots that compliment the music

In our music video i want to try bring out the pop elements from each shot, the perfomance side i want to be shot in a dark nightclub or warehouse(dark free space) with lots of lighting. It will be important for the artist perfoming to have a connection with the camera making sure that he looks 'pop'. Most pop artist move in promiscuous ways so perhaps try to get some moves in our video.
My story starts of with the artist writing a song for his one love in the intro, then as he gets into it he will start singing and the perfomance side will be brought into it. I want to try and experiment with lots different angle shots, especially the crane shot as i think this would be effective in our video! The pace of edits would be fast to keep people wanting to see more, and i think we would go even faster and upbeat when the rap comes in. We are going to try to use the lighting to change the mood such as when he is writting the love song a spot light would be on in and as the song moves later on we could use strobe lighting to try get a more upbeat feel to the video.
