Research. Codes & Convenctions and New rave research
Codes and Convenctions are the familiar and predictable forms and techniques used by the media to communicate certain ideas to convey a desired impression.
I have been researching the music genre of New Rave, first of all i decided to search indie new rave bands such like klaxons and late of the pier. I then read up on wikipedia that klaxons claim not to be classed as new rave and banned glow sticks at their gigs in 2007.
I then decided to search bands like trashfashion, Trash Fashion describe their sound as "Guntronic Disco Warehouse Rock" but are often placed in the New Rave category, citing Black Strobe, Tiga, Daft Punk, Altern8, The Prodigy, Shalamar, Prince, Stevie Wonder and Iron Maiden as some of their influences.
I particular video i enjoyed by them was 'it's a rave dave' i think the video sums up 'new rave' with the bright abstract clothes they're wearing and lively jumping about to the music.
The editing of this and other new rave video's i've seen consist of a series of fast paced cuts and flashing lights.
A video i particularly enjoyed was Called The National Curriculum by Out Of Animals, it's not a typical new rave video but is very creative, this is their video.
Out of Animals are a new band not many have heard of, their website describe their genre as ska through metal and indie into electronica and mutated into a genre-munching ubermensch. But people just call them new rave.
In many New Rave video's you can see sometimes see DJ's, also they can have a random story such as fantasy, the people in these new rave videos are dressed in costumes with weird dancing.
from my research i found that keyboards are the most common use in new rave videos

Research. Music Video's
Today I have been looking at all different kinds of music video's on youtube.
Ones of well known bands such as Arctic Monkeys, ones of not so well known bands such as Eygiption Hiphop.
R&B video's such as Jason Derulo and Justin Beiber, and also some classic pop such as Britney Spears.
It seems some bands have a mix of different kinds of music video's and some seem to stick to the same kind of mise en scene, such as the band Late of the pier, who's video's all seem to be very weird and abstract with some clever bits which show what the song is actually about.

Angry birds Distribution & Exchange
Angry Birds is a puzzle video game developed by Finland-based Rovio Mobile, in which players use a slingshot to launch birds at pigs stationed on or within various structures, with the intent of destroying all the pigs on the playfield.
the game was first released for Apple's iOS in December 2009. Since that time, over 12 million copies of the game have been purchased from Apple's App Store,
Rovio Mobile has supported Angry Birds with numerous free updates that add additional game content,
The initial iOS version of the game included a single episode entitled "Poached Eggs," which contained three themed groups of levels, each with 21 levels. From time to time, Rovio has released free upgrades that include additional content, such as new levels, new in-game objects and even new birds. As updates have been released, they have been incorporated into the game's full version offered for download from each platform's application store
Since release, the free, limited version of Angry Birds has been downloaded over 11 million times for Apple's iOS, and the full-featured paid version has been downloaded nearly 7 million times as of September 2010.[
Near the end of 2010, Rovio stated that it was developing new ports of the game, this time for devices outside of the mobile phone market. In January 2011, three of those ports launched. First, Sony announced the North American release of Angry Birds for its PlayStation Portable handheld system in the form of a PlayStation mini game that includes the first episode's 63 levels; the version is also playable on the PlayStation 3.[34] Next, Rovio released a Windows version of the game, available for sale exclusively from Intel's AppUp center, which included 195 levels at launch and plans for exclusive features not available on the smartphone versions.[35] One day after the Windows version was released, the Mac App Store launched, with one of the first offerings being its own version of Angry Birds.[36] Ports of Angry Birds are also proposed for the Xbox 360, Wii and Nintendo DS systems.[37][26][22][38] In October 2010,Microsoft suggested on one of its websites that a Windows Phone 7 version of Angry Birds was in development. After Rovio complained that Microsoft had not asked permission to make such a statement, noting that it had not committed to design a Windows Phone version, Microsoft was requested to revise its site to remove references to the game
Angry Birds is an addictive puzzler distributed by Rovio Mobile, available for play on the iPhone and iPad. In the game, some greedy green pigs made the mistake of going after birds' eggs
The game has sold over 5 million copies in the span of 6 months, giving it the most explosive growth of any iPhone game. Those 5 million copies have earned Angry Birdsmore than $3.1 million in sales (listed as over 2 million GBP in the article with The Sun). It's also the #1 paid app in several countries worldwide, including the US, Russia, India and France.
in honor of the one-year anniversary of the release of Angry Birds, Rovio Mobile announced that the game had been downloaded 50 million times, with more than 12 million on iOS devices[19] and 10 million on Android
In August 2010, Angry Birdswas made available to the Palm Pre phone running Palm's webOS operating system through its App Catalog online store.[25] Symbian^3 phones received a version of the game in October 2010,[26]
Angry birds production was developed by finland based rivio mobile
Angry birds was released in december 2009 and since has sold over 12million coppies of the game

Tv & Drama and Games
Today and over christmas i have been looking at power points and clips we were given on Tv & drama and games.
i learnt a lot from the power points on games that had some interesting facts and showed me how much games have developed over time.
Over time there have been crazy amounts of different consoles and other media devices that games can and have been played on, here are a few, Nintendo, game boy, Sega, computar, playstation, phone, Xbox and WII but list does go on such as big arcade cabinet version of games.
I enjoyed watching 'charlies brookers gameswipe' and his view on different games as he is quite a witty guy.
I also liked watching some of the clips we got from the tv drama's as they inspired me to actually watch it next time it was on telly. Unluckily for me i haven't been able to find any of the selected drama's on the tv over christmas.
For christmas i got misfits series one and two and i'd say it's a representation of youth culture in a tv drama. I think i managed to anaylise the mise en scene quite well and the music played to suspense and settings during the series and also the soundtrack 'echoes' by the rapture.
I liked the editing types video, as it refreshed my mind and reminded me of all the different kids of editing types such as 'split screen' - the screen being split in two to see two different clips at the same time.
I also like the amount of different shot types the drama 'spooks' has.
I realise here are a lot of different kinds of TV drama's such as, crime drama's - the bill.
Hospital Dramas - casualty
Detective drama - lewis
Soap - eastenders, to name a few other types of tv drama.
