Research. Codes & Convenctions and New rave research

Codes and Convenctions are the familiar and predictable forms and techniques used by the media to communicate certain ideas to convey a desired impression.

I have been researching the music genre of New Rave, first of all i decided to search indie new rave bands such like klaxons and late of the pier. I then read up on wikipedia that klaxons claim not to be classed as new rave and banned glow sticks at their gigs in 2007.
I then decided to search bands like trashfashion, Trash Fashion describe their sound as "Guntronic Disco Warehouse Rock"  but are often placed in the New Rave  category, citing Black StrobeTigaDaft PunkAltern8The ProdigyShalamarPrinceStevie Wonder and Iron Maiden as some of their influences.
I particular video i enjoyed by them was 'it's a rave dave' i think the video sums up 'new rave' with the bright abstract clothes they're wearing and lively jumping about to the music.
The editing of this and other new rave video's i've seen consist of a series of fast paced cuts and flashing lights.

A video i particularly enjoyed was Called The National Curriculum by Out Of Animals, it's not a typical new rave video but is very creative, this is their video.
Out of Animals are a new band not many have heard of, their website describe their genre as ska through metal and indie into electronica and mutated into a genre-munching ubermensch. But people just call them new rave.

In many New Rave video's you can see sometimes see DJ's, also they can have a random story such as fantasy, the people in these new rave videos are dressed in costumes with weird dancing.

from my research i found that keyboards are the most common use in new rave videos
