Research. Record Lables

I chose Atlantic Records as one of my three record labels as i know the artist Ed Sheeran signed to them last week after his collaborations album reached number 1 in the downloadable charts. I've been a fan of Ed for a few years and it was good to see an artist with no industry backing have a successful album.
Atlantic Records are an American record label best known for its many recordings of rhythm and blues, rock and roll, and jazz.
Atlantic have signed a range of different artists from Bloc Party to Jason Mraz.
I like the Atlantic Logo, the font used is effective and the use of the big bold A used on top of it.

Domino is the second Record Label because i know that the band Arctic Monkeys are signed to them. Hearing Arctic Monkeys early demo's in 2004 and their story to the top of the charts is what really got me into rock'n roll and indie and inspired me to make a band. Domino Records are an independent record label based in London.
Domino celebrated their first UK #1 album in October 2005 with Franz Ferdinand's You Could Have It So Much Better, and their first UK #1 single with Arctic Monkeys' "I Bet You Look Good on the Dancefloor" later that same month. As well as new music, Domino have released produced compilations by British post-punk bands such as Orange Juice, Josef K, Fire Engines and Young Marble Giants.
I like the simple design of the Domino logo, with the big capital D standing out and the rest of the word domino being underlined, this is a simple yet effective way of making a word stand out.

The Third Record Label i chose is Sub Pop Records, i heard of this record label as they have signed a few bands i am into such as Foals, Beach House and Avi Buffalo.
Sub Pop is a record label founded by Bruce Pavitt and Jonathan Poneman in Seattle, Washington in 1986. Sub Pop achieved fame in the late 1980s for first signing Nirvana, and many other bands from the Seattle music scene.

Sub Pop has two platinum records, Nirvana's Bleach; and Flight of the Conchords's Flight of the Conchords.
I like how Sub Pop have used opposites for their yogo, with black and white over each other. I think this could look really good in colours such as red and green.
