Research. Star Analysis

I am looking into the band Arctic Monkeys . They have made several video's so far, their first being 'I bet you look good on the dancefloor'
In this video we got a sense of their early style in both fashion and music. At the start of the video Alex Turner says 'Don't Believe the hype' This is because there was a huge amount of hype surrounding the band. It was also their myspace caption when the band were starting out. There isn't much to the video, just them playing as a band in casual clothing i.e Polo t-shirts with the buttons done to the top which is a stereotypical chindie look. From this video we learn that the band like to play music as a band, and enjoy lots of drums and small guitar solo's in between the chorus and verse.

However in another early arctic monkeys video 'leave before the lights come on' the band don't appear in the video at all. The video tells us a story of what the song is about. The music video has some close ups of the two main characters to show their emotions through out. The length of each shot varies between one and four seconds which is normal for a music video. I could only get a youtube link for this as youtube wont let me embed this video.
The video is also shot in and around Sheffield which is the bands home town, this shows that sheffield is a big part of the band.

The Arctic Monkeys whole looks and feel totally changes with their latest video's from their last album.
Their music video 'Crying lightning' shows them with long hair and more adult clothing with coats. For me it feels like they have matured musically and become more creative.. I also think The heavy bassline encompasses everything in this. As the arctic Monkeys sound has changed their image has changed with that.
The video also has a dark abstract twist, the band performing the song on a boat on a rough sea and towards the end, four figures (which are also the band members) rise up out from the water.
