Characters and Narrative (Imonster)

Christopher lee plays both Dr Marlowe and Mr Blake. They are the same person technically, but there are two different personalities, and changes take place to the body so that Dr Marlowe transforms into a monster. Dr. Marlowe is an ambitious, well dressed  and respectable doctor, who loves experimenting with different chemicals, and then seeing what happens when they are given to patients. Through experimenting, he ends up creating a second personality for himself, otherwise known as Mr Blake. Mr Blake is one of the evil people in the film, who takes over Dr. Marlowes life at night.  Dr Marlowe would probably be seen as a flawed good character, because of the way that he experiments with the chemicals in an irresponsible way. He is also a victim, because of the way that Mr Blake takes over his life.

Peter Cushing takes on the role of Dr Marlowes good friend. He comes across as very driven, well dressed and wealthy.
